Site information

Terms

Effective July 21, 2026.

Can Chickens Eat It? provides general educational information for chicken keepers. It is not veterinary, diagnostic, treatment, legal, or regulatory advice.

Use of the guide

Food records summarize cited sources and may not cover every bird, quantity, plant variety, preparation, contaminant, or medical condition. You remain responsible for feeding decisions and for obtaining qualified veterinary help when needed.

No emergency service

This site does not monitor submissions and cannot respond to emergencies. If a bird may have eaten a harmful substance or is showing concerning signs, contact an avian or poultry veterinarian or an appropriate local animal poison resource.

Availability and changes

We may correct, expand, or remove records as evidence changes. The site is provided as available, without a guarantee that every page will always be uninterrupted or error-free.

Acceptable use

Do not interfere with the site, attempt unauthorized access, or use automated traffic in a way that degrades access for others. Ordinary search-engine crawling and personal reference use are welcome.

Privacy

This site has no accounts, comments, advertising trackers, or third-party analytics. Food matching is performed in your browser after the reviewed data file loads.

Aggregate search signals

When you submit a search, the site may send a same-site signal containing the normalized search term, limited to 64 characters. The server derives whether it matched a reviewed food instead of trusting a client-supplied result. These aggregate counts identify no-match searches that may belong on the content roadmap.

The browser does not send queries that look like an email address, URL, phone number, or contain control characters. Do not enter personal information into the food search.

The Analytics Engine data point contains only the normalized term and the server-derived hit or miss result. It does not explicitly include an IP address, user agent, cookie, account, or device identifier. Cloudflare Analytics Engine supplies its automatic time field and currently retains data points for three months.

Information stored on your device

The site may store a short list of recently viewed food slugs in local browser storage. Use the Clear control beside Recent on the checker, or your browser controls, to remove it. It is not sent to an application database.

Infrastructure data

Cloudflare delivers the site and may process technical request information such as IP address, user agent, timestamps, requested URLs, and security signals to operate and protect the service. Cloudflare handles that data under its own privacy terms.

Outbound source links

Source links lead to third-party websites. Their privacy practices apply after you leave this site.

Future changes

If accounts, advertising, or materially different collection is added later, this notice will be updated before those features are treated as part of the service.
